Our leaves are turning, my nose keeps sniffing for the first hint of that fall smell, Ellie's back in school and our routine is back to its new normal after a very busy summer of travel. Here are a few pictures finally. The first few are from sailing at the family reunion in Charleston, SC. The last is Owen on his 1st birthday.

could we have an athlete?
As unlikely as it seems to anyone who's ever played a team sport with me (and maybe Ryan, but he can say that for himself), it appears we have a wee boy with a budding interest in all things athletic. He learned to walk yesterday. This is what I found him doing on the porch today (note how deflated the ball is . . . a testament to the lack of interest from the rest of the family, poor kid).

here's proof that not everyone weeds out bad pictures of themselves for the web. the ride that morning, even in 95 degrees at 8 am, was too good not to document.
